I know the plans I have for you

Let me start by saying I thank Jesus for allowing me to be confident enough to write my testimony and tell my story. I was born in 1982, 6 years before I was born my mom was part of the 1976 Chowchilla kidnapping. She was one of the students on the bus that was hijacked. This was a severely traumatic experience for her, and she is still trying to cope with it today. Due to this experience in her life, she was emotionally unavailable while I was growing up. I was raised in a home where there were drugs and alcohol. I blamed myself for all the chaos in our home & felt alone.

At the age of 15, I had so many mixed emotions and this started my downward spiral to using Methamphetamine which caused me to start getting into trouble with the law. I ended up in jail in 2022, this is where I heard about Jesus through the Merced County Jail Ministry. I was released to a program and upon completion received my commercial license, and a full-time position with the Merced County Rescue Mission Respite Care Program. I am grateful for all God has done in my life; without him I would not be where I am at today.

The scripture that helped me is Jeremiah 29:11 —

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you hope and a future”.
